We found it to be a well-focused coming-of-age story centered on the protagonist, Bella Baxter, a unique woman exploring the outside world, in search of emancipation, the liberation of the female figure, her body, and her image, in ways that diverge from traditional stereotypical imagery.
Bella's perspective is one without prejudice, which does not cast doubt on the fact that women and men can have the same experiences both in terms of education and work, as well as in personal and relational aspects. We talk about freedom and equality, about how we perceive the world, women, and men in relation to each other.

The main theme of the film is centered on: the violations of human rights perpetrated by border guards, the constant difficulties faced by asylum seekers at the borders of the European Union, the power of media disinformation, and the solidarity of activist groups in providing initial assistance and their efforts in spreading transparent information.
However, one aspect became immediately clear to us: in violence and oppression, there is no distinction of gender, age, or health status. The hell faced during this humanitarian crisis spares no one: women, pregnant women, children, men, elderly, injured; Everyone represents the enemy, and therefore everyone must be stopped in the same inhumane way.

A harsh yet truthful photograph of a complex society. It touches on various delicate themes, such as the opposite spectrum of the so-called "ideal families," dysfunctional families like the one in which the protagonist Desiré is born, which do not necessarily convey positive values and principles such as unconditional love, respect, education on gender equality, and healthy interpersonal support; childhood abuse, unaddressed traumas, and mental disorders.
The film prompts reflection on how a culture persists that fuels the stereotype of the "nurse" woman, driven by the ongoing gender imbalance in caregiving work that increasingly burdens women. Desiré is a working woman, has a partner, and would like to build her own family, emancipating herself from the condition she experienced within the walls of her family home. However, she is surrounded by people, particularly her own family members, who continue to take advantage of her willingness to help. Despite being a strong and independent woman, she struggles to prioritize her own life, career, and desires, putting the well-being of others, their care, and their opinions first, at the cost of feeling guilty and facing the stigma that many women still endure today. The price to pay then is to lose everything: oneself, one's freedom, and one's happiness.

In the story of a contemporary and evolving Mongolia, in the attempt to balance tradition and progress, the protagonist Ze undergoes, almost reflexively, a moment of personal crisis.
He is a young student and shaman who moves away from his traditional ways of life and thinking by experiencing the love of Maralaa. With her, he shares new, diverse experiences, no longer tied to tradition but closer to the reality of his peers.
The relationship between the two young people is portrayed equally; they come from different family backgrounds that manage to communicate and create that added value capable of enriching and enhancing their lives mutually.
We appreciated the portrayal of female characters, both primary and secondary; they are portrayed as strong, courageous women; they are free to make important and courageous choices in their lives, determined to put themselves first; They are capable of facing any denigration from males, as happens in some scenes at school, for example.

The story of the love between Priscilla and Elvis Presley, told through the perspective and voice of the great rock singer's wife.
The representation of the female figure and the complicated relationship between the two sparks reflection on the condition of women in society during the 1960s and 1970s, as well as on the role of women as the wives of highly successful stars.
The key words are: shadow and subordination.
Priscilla in particular, but the representation of female figures in general, always seems secondary and faded. A woman who lives in the shadow of her husband and who cannot express her own personality, see her desires acknowledged, and fulfill them.
Priscilla is not the life partner with whom to share equally the successes and failures of a professional career; she is relegated to enduring only the outbursts, frustration, and dissatisfaction of the toughest moments. To celebrate the best times, there are always male and female friends designated to be the objects of pleasure.
Priscilla is the woman relegated to the home, to caregiving, waiting for her husband's return; her life was meant to be dedicated solely to pleasing him:behaving, dressing, styling her hair, all according to the taste and choice of the husband who shaped her, raised her, and defined her position in society, at his discretion.
However, there is also the moment of liberation and revenge, with strength and determination the woman escapes from this relationship in an attempt at redemption, to rebuild a life in which she can realize herself as Priscilla, and not as Elvis Presley's wife.

A simple narrative, unfiltered, through excerpts of videos secretly filmed with phones inside Chilean women's prisons that show and tell the difficult lives of women, mothers, wives, incarcerated in cramped spaces and precarious conditions.
Most of them live in similar situations: they grew up in contexts of poverty and are single mothers with children, bearing the entire responsibility for care, while the fathers or relatives, when they are not absent, are often unstable and unhealthy subjects. .
There are moments of introspection and inner conflict, where women endure judgment not only from the law but also from themselves and society. A kind of self-condemnation for not having been exemplary mothers, as society would expect them to be: at home, close to the children and far from crime. The sense of guilt is strong; they know they are the only point of reference for their children and that the separation during the period of detention and the absence of a healthy and balanced home environment can have serious long-term effects on the children, who are already born into a disadvantaged situation.
A situation on the edge, but one that makes us reflect on how, everywhere in the world, in both exceptional and ordinary situations, the sense of responsibility and care for the home, family, children, and education is an uneven division between partners.
However, the sharing of spaces, situations, and thoughts creates an atmosphere of sisterhood, solidarity, and mutual support among the inmates, thus becoming a form of resistance and empowerment to endure the moment, feel less alone and guilty, and hope to emerge better, more aware, and as soon as possible.

Film&Parità - among the movies in competition at the 80th Venice Film Festival: Ferrari.

In the film based on a chapter of the life of the Ferrari family, founders of the eponymous car company, the theme of gender equality is particularly evident. The Ferrari Company, named after Enzo Ferrari, was founded by both spouses, who also hold equal shares in the business.
The film succeeds in highlighting and bringing to the forefront the figure of the wife, Laura Ferrari, who, despite being in a dramatic context (after the death of their son and during the marital crisis), played a decisive and significant role within the story.
The spouse, in fact, besides having founded the company together with her husband, managed the accounting side of the business, expenses, payroll, etc.
The film sparks an important reflection on female empowerment, highlighting how crucial it is for a woman to have her own job, which leads to independence, freedom in life choices, and the ability to assert herself in her professional decisions.

The journey of personal growth and redemption of a young girl, simple and naive, raised in a humble and traditional Italian family of the 1950s. Mimosa, the protagonist, has always lived in the shadow of her sister, as she is considered less attractive, and is a victim of her parents' pressures who urge her to settle down as the wife of the classic well-off young man with a stable job, seeing no other alternatives for her, at just twenty years old, than to soon become a wife and housewife, fearing that no one else will consider her and that she will end up alone.
The theme of female empowerment is strong; Mimosa, after a long and bizarre night filled with fun and fear, dragged into the discovery of the social life of famous personalities, emerges at dawn as a new woman, an adult, with renewed self-esteem and a new awareness of herself and the world around her. It is not necessary to demonstrate courage, beauty, and deference to avoid disappointing the expectations of family or society; we must do it for ourselves. The path to feeling fulfilled and finding our place in the world doesn't necessarily have to be found at twenty, in marriage, or in the appreciation of a man, but there’s plenty of time and a whole sea of possibilities.

The film, whose title literally means "stroke of luck," reflects on the role that luck and chance often play, sometimes counting more than merit and skill in our lives, in the realization of dreams and success.
In an apparently ideal and happy love relationship between Jean and Fanny, two wealthy and accomplished young people, the character of the woman soon reveals her role as a façade wife, a trophy to be displayed in society by her husband, a manipulator tied to money and power.
In contrast, the portrayal of Aline, Fanny's mother, is ironic and detached; she presents the image of a strong woman, ready to assess and judge people and events with clarity, taking charge of the situation to expose the crimes of her daughter's husband.
Through the figure of the mother, even though she is not the protagonist, the role of the woman emerges as someone capable of turning a situation around, of not accepting, enduring, but fighting for herself and her daughter.

Through the journey of the two young protagonists, cousins Zoé and Volta, the life of Kosovo's youth in the years following the 1990s war is depicted, which is defined as: “Marginalized, forgotten generation,” young people who feel unheard and see no prospects for the future in a country deeply marked by conflict, in turmoil amid political and social tensions.
At the center of the narrative is the desire for empowerment and the journey of growth towards adulthood of the two teenagers who flee from their rural village to reach the capital, against the wishes of their family, which opposes the idea of education and independence for women, being sensitive to the judgment of others and adhering to a very modest moral code.
Their goal: to try and create an ambitious and fulfilling future through education and studies at the University, as well as the opportunity to find a good job that provides not only economic independence but also personal redemption and a crucial role in influencing the recovery and future of Kosovo.

The film tells about the life and extraordinary work of writer Isabel Wilkerson, Pulitzer Prize winner, who investigated the origins of injustice. The director illustrates the life of the writer and the research she conducted to arrive at the writing of the book. The film makes a good contribution to gender equality with its portrayal of equal roles in a couple.
For example, in the film, the secondary character (the husband) serves as support for his wife, backing her in her choices and literary pursuits, following her in her work, and helping her express herself to the fullest. He also takes on caregiving and domestic tasks, which sadly still fall disproportionately on the shoulders of women today.

The protagonists of the film are two women, two mothers, with different lives and backgrounds, united by the young newly turned adult Egoz, who acts as a bridge connecting their lives. The story being told refers to a dark chapter of Francoist Spain, that of children taken from the families of political opponents and the less affluent, a wound still open for many.
A very sensitive theme emerges regarding the bond between a woman forced to give her child up for adoption and a sterile woman who adopts him, both deceived about the reality behind the adoption, as well as the child Egoz. Between them, there is no envy or competition, but respect and understanding for each other's internal wounds.
