Ginger & Fred ed. 2024
Synopsis
A boy and a girl are competing against each other to see who can capture the best shots of Venice and its surroundings. More than a race, the competition seems like a duel to see who can capture the best images, with pushes, jumps, traps, and sabotage.
At the end of the day, the two protagonists review the footage side by side, only to realize that the individual videos are unusable on their own, while by overlapping them and thus combining their work, the shots turn out great.
The short film begins right in the middle of the duel, with the two protagonists sizing each other up before grabbing their cameras to start filming. Using the split screen technique to enhance the idea of separation, we follow both characters during the action. The split screen simultaneously interacts with the two protagonists, creating barriers or removing support. The entire race is marked by chases through Venice and brief gags leading up to the revealing finale.
